Unilateral ovarian fibroma in 20 year old nulligravida: case report

Ovarian Fibroma is a rare benign sex cord stromal tumor of the ovary. Fibroma are most frequently seen in middle aged women. Pelvic pain is the most common symptom of ovarian fibroma. Tumor can reach a large size at presentation. Ovarian fibroma usually misdiagnosed preoperatively as uterine leiomyoma. We present an unusual case of fibroma of the ovary presenting at 20 years of age, less than the usual age reported in the literature. In this case, diagnosis was not confirmed preoperatively.

Background: Mucormycosis is an angio-invasive fungal infection due to fungi of the order Mucorales causes infection in humans only when the immunity is critically low, this is known to occur in patients with uncontrolled diabetes, post transplant and cancer. This fungus is normally present in environment. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is an independent risk factor for both severe COVID-19 and mucormycosis. The first case in Bilaspur was reported on 19th May 2021 during the peak of second wave of covid-19 in Bilaspur division.

Background: Mucormycosis is an angio-invasive fungal infection due to fungi of the order Mucorales. This is known to occur in patients with uncontrolled diabetes, post transplant and cancer. Most individuals are exposed to these fungi on a daily basis, but people with weakened immune systems are more susceptible to infection. The infection begins in the nose and para nasal sinuses due to inhalation of fungal spores. The infection can spread to orbital and intracranial structures either by direct invasion or through the blood vessels.

Lack of fertility awareness and practices of fertile period as a cause of infertility in a tertiary care hospital of north india

Background: Most cases of infertility are because of physiological causes in one or both the partners. Poor fertility period awareness acts as a contributing cause. This study is aimed to achieve a better understanding of the awareness and practices of fertile period in infertile couples seeking fertility assistance.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional questionnaire based study, conducted on infertile couples at Santosh Medical College and Hospital, Ghaziabad, over a period of 3 months from December 2019 to February 2020.
