A study of the prevalence of anxiety and depression among patients attending the general medicine outpatient department

Background: Anxiety and depressive disorders among patients seeking general medical health care have largely been under-recognized. Therefore, not only do the patients tend to lead a lower quality of life but also the load on the already overburdened health system is further increased. This study aims to assess the prevalence of anxiety and depression among patients attending the general medicine outpatient department and emphasize the need to screen for the same during the outpatient visits.

Wound healing activity of parthenium hysterophorus (congress grass) by incision wound model in wistar rats

Context: Parthenium hysterophorus, a weed belonging to Asteraceae family posses many significant medicinal properties like anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antirheumatic, antidiabetic and many more. Plant has been found to be pharmacologically active in the process of wound healing activity too.

Aims: The study was planned to study the wound healing activity of Parthenium hysterophorus in Wistar Albino Rats.

Background: In recent years, use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) has increased with growing incidence of chronic and incurable diseases. Better understanding regarding benefits and mechanisms of CAM use in cancer is desired. Objective: 1) to explore perceptions and beliefs of alternative therapists concerning practice of CAM.  2) To investigate benefits and mechanism of practicing CAM in cancer by them. 3) To suggest holistic approach of cancer management by health care providers.

Guided all-on-6 implant retained prosthesis for mandibular arch rehabilitation- a case report

Tooth loss is a widespread concern. Prosthetic rehabilitation by all- on- 6 implant placement is a widely used procedure for full arch rehabilitations. It requires proper case selection with availability of sufficient bone and interarch space for fabrication of implant retained prosthesis. Although research into dental implant designs, materials, and processes has increased in recent years and is expected to continue. A computer-guided surgery is preferable for controlled and precise implant placement.

Study of prevalence of transfusion transmitted infections among blood donors in a tertiary care hospital

Transfusion Transmitted Infections (TTIs) are one of the major concerns for the blood transfusion services, which are an integral part of the current medical field. This study is intended to estimate the prevalence of TTIs among all the blood donors. This is a retrospective observational study carried out in the blood bank of a tertiary care hospital from January 2014 to December 2018 based on the records maintained in the blood bank. Total of 4499 blood donors were included in the study with 67% of them being replacement donors and 98.6% being male donors.
