Rehabilitation of a subject with mental retardation – a case report

Introduction: Mental retardation is a permanent condition characterized by subaverage intelligence, which causes limitations in learning and adaptive functioning. Methodology: The case study was conduct on Miss. Siddilingamma during last week of February 2023 at Nachiketa Manovikasa kendra in Bangalore. The patient was treated with some exercise to improve Quality of life, eg. Therapeutic Ball exercise, Balance and coordination exercise, music and dance therapy and some Stretching.

A cross sectional study of gender based violence against men in an urban field practice area of belagavi, north karnataka

Background: Gender based violence is found to be recognized as a global public health and human rights problem which leads to high rates of morbidity, mortality, substance dependence, suicide and depression. Since India is a male dominant society, it is hard to believe that male can be a victim and female a perpetrator. In the absence of any systemic data, with more men coming up and reporting violence by women, it is important to understand the issue of violence against men by women and associated factors.

Perceived usefulness and beneficial learning outcomes in students of pharmacology introduced to computer simulated experiments

The removal of animal experimentation and the availability of excellent computer-based simulations demonstrating drug action, has made computer simulated experiments a valuable instructional tool for teaching pharmacology. After ethics committee approval, 172 pharmacology student volunteers participated in the study after giving written informed consent. A multiple-choice pre-test was administered prior to the computer-based teaching sessions using the software EP Dog version E 1.1.0. followed by a questionnaire to gather student perceptions and personal learning outcomes.

Retroprospective study of discard rate in department of transfusion medicine of a university medical college of north india

Background: This study was conducted in the blood centre at MMDU, Mullana. The aim of study was to calculate the discard rate during the study period and finding out the reasons responsible for them in order to provide suggestions for further improvisation in blood transfusion techniques. Design: Study was carried out over a period of 6 months i.e. August, 2019 to January, 2020. The conducted study was retroprospective. Data for study period was collected from the blood centre records. The testing protocol was followed in the blood centre in accordance to NABH guidelines.

An overview of pet radiopharmaceuticals

Introduction: In India since 2002,after the introduction of 18F-FDG for various clinical applications, different other PET radiopharmaceuticals have also been developed progressively.
