Mankind is advancing beyond the ability to create inanimate objects, towards the capability of replacing and regenerating our own body tissues. The amalgamation of bioengineering and dentistry will result in an explosion of knowledge. Current approaches to tissue engineering can be divided broadly into two main types:ex vivo and in vivo .For a successful attempt for tissue engineering the following three components are of utmost importance ie Matrix or Scaffold, Appropriate cells, and Signaling molecules or soluble mediators.
