Pleomorphic adenoma of right parotid gland: a case report And review of literature

Pleomorphic adenoma is a benign salivary gland neoplasm mainly affecting parotid gland but also
occurs in submandibular gland and minor salivary glands distributed in oral cavity. It is also called
benign mixed tumor as it consists of epithelial and mesenchymal components and myxoid, chondroid,
osseous, mucoid, hyalinized areas of connective tissue seen in microscopic examination. Surgery is
mainstay of treatment. Malignant transformation is rare. In this article, we report a case of
pleomorphic adenoma of right parotid gland of middle aged female patient that was treated with
surgical exicision showing no evidence of recurrence for 2 years postoperative follow up.
