Spinal anesthesiais one popular modality of regional anesthesia. It is popular owing to its safety, simplicity and low cost. Different local anesthetics can be used in spinal anesthesia. Choice depends on duration of anesthesia required, patient profile and postoperative discharge criteria. Bupivaciane heavy has been a popular local anesthetic for the purpose. We have compared bupivacaine and chlorprocaine, 2 local anesthetics based on various parameters.
