The present study was designed to evaluate the protective effect of gamma terpinene against
metabolic syndrome in rats. Metabolic syndrome was induced by a combination of high fructose diet
along with Chronic Unpredictable Stress (CUS) protocol of 21 days duration and the complete
induction was evident from a significant increase in blood pressure, elevated blood glucose,
triglycerides and uric acid levels.
