Krukenberg tumor, a diagnostic dilemma: a case report

The eponym Krukenberg tumor is used to designate an ovarian neoplasm, usually bilateral and always of metastatic origin, characterized grossly by moderate solid multinodular enlargement of the ovaries and microscopically by diffuse infiltration by signet cells containing abundant neutral and acidic (sialo) mucins. Herein, we present a similar case of krukenberg tumor of ovary with the associated primary tumor being diagnosed on histologic and immunohistochemical examination.
