Botanical, phytochemical and pharmacological review of flacourtia jangomas (lour.) raeusch

Flacourtia jangomas is traditionally used in India, China, Malaya Peninsula, Brazil for the treatment
against asthma, anemia, diarrhoea, diabetes. Considering its medicinal and economic values the plant
is not attractive to the farmers because of its low yield and lack of awareness towards its potential.
Aim of this review is to provide an up to date knowledge or overview about the vernacular names,
distribution, botanical aspects, chemical constituent and phytochemical analysis. Further
phytochemical and pharmacological potential of this species are suggested for future investigations.
